Jonathan Carter has had a lifetime passion for antiques, and clocks in particular. On leaving the army Jonathan spent time working on the bench for a furniture restorer, before establishing and building up a successful retail and mail order business which he sold to fulfil his ambition to work with antique clocks. Jonathan took a diploma in clock conservation at West Dean College, Sussex and his experience makes him one of the few dealers with an intimate working knowledge of clockmaking.

Ben Wright joined Christie’s in 1986 as a porter and over the following 20 years went on to become the International Head of the Clock Department and a Board Director. He has travelled the world, studying many of the greatest clock collections in private hands. An experienced auctioneer, Ben has conducted many important clocks and watch sales all over the world. At the last count he had sold over 2,000 carriage clocks and more than 50 clocks by Thomas Tompion. Ben can be seen regularly as one of the experts on the BBC’s Antiques Roadshow.
